About evotops®

evotops® is a major step in the evolution of pure acrylic solid surface sheets that we’ve designed to meet the increasing environmental and commercial demands of customers.

With over 300 tonnes of acrylic ending up in landfill every year in the UK, we wanted to create a product that minimised manufacturing waste and gave new life to unused material – which is where evotops® was created.

Why is wharf evotops® good for the environment? 

 

At Wharf, we produce over thousands of square metres of worktop every year, so know all too well the amount of unused material that never gets reused. We decided to step up the challenge and find a scalable, sustainable solution for all that waste.

 

 

Every evotops® countertop is made with up to 40% reclaimed materials*, it’s the first of its kind on the market and we think it solves a lot of the sustainability issues and indoor air quality concerns that various kitchen countertop materials face. Not only does it make use of unwanted materials, it’s also extremely easy to install which saves time and money for our customers. 

 

Full environmental certification is in the works, and provenance tracking for the materials diverted from landfills is available on every sheet.

We’re passionate about innovating, which meant we were one of the first UK fabricators to embrace fully digital templating, and creatively tackled our own waste problem, reducing it from the industry average 30% to just 4%. Through our culture of continuous improvement, we have also worked hard to go from traditional acrylic worktop fabrication to developing industry-leading products and processes.  

 

Durable, repairable, and always hygienic with a non-porous surface and seamless joins, a pure acrylic solid surface is the right choice for a variety of applications in the home. Now, with evotops®, we have been able to drastically reduce landfill waste, remove excess weight, and eliminate the need for MDF.
